Vocational scholarship on offer to good students

Vientiane Professional Development College will provide 160 scholarships to students who lack opportunities to study in Laos. Head of Office at Vientiane Professional Development College, Ms Manolack Pathammavong told Vientiane Times on January 4 that this year the college plans to provide scholarships in three phases with 160 scholarships each. Currently, some 50 students have already registered for examination to study at our college. Initially we will also provide 160 scholarships. We have free apartments for male and female students and will also provide an allowance to study every month. It offers fields of study including automobile repair, hotel services, household electrical, garment manufacture, and cooking. The courses will run from three and a half months to six months in duration. Ms Manolack said the conditions for the scholarships include that the applicants be good students, aged from 15-35, and originate from poor families. They must also not be involved with drugs.
